lost backpack
Was going to do my children's video on last day but no video camera believe this is the only thing missing. did learn not to procrastinate, hopefully did cost to much as far as my grade Dr. Beedle.
adaptive technology
Scene 1
When thinking of the things that interest students and might help in the development of intrinsic motivation. Activity such as trips to a local museum or aquarium might help to spark an interest in the student in sciences or aquaculture. One might also develop a play to go along with a book that is assign for a reading, and let the kids develop a story line on their own. Another activity that help in developing interest in developing math skills for students own benefits maybe to follow the stock market and set up make believe accounts to see who would be the biggest winner or loser over the month.
Scene 2
Any time that you get an expert advice before you develop a lesson plan it give you fresh look at an area that might not of come to mind. Having some new and exciting ideas in your lesson plan may just help to instill a greater desire for the students themselves to want to learn. Such activity that the expertise is involved save having to use your students as Ginny pigs with a trial and error methodology. Students have a tendency to get bored with the same old routine so a fresh set of eyes or idea will not only help the student, but also the instructor.
Scene 3
The use of the graphic organizers would help the students by reaching a high level of the cognitive domain of learning. By making the students actually look at the story line an organizing the characters, as well as the hidden meaning of the pictures that illustrate the book each student will begin to develop a higher understanding of the material in the lesson plan. Oscar also will be helped by being able to pull the meaning of the story out of the pictures instead of the small print which is so hard for him to see.
Scene 4
Working with the web the wealth of information that needs to be culled through can be over whelming and time consuming. The use of “quotation marks” can help to limit the scope of the search. Searching through info from reliable sources such as university or government sponsored cites can help with reliability issues. The use of meta-search engines will also help with the retrieval of material.
Sence5
Group learning helps everyone involved when all participate everyone gets everyone’s point of view and more than likely they all can be different. Questions that come up are some of the same but some students are too embarrassed to ask. The reading expert also helps not just Oscar, but everyone gets the benefit of her expertise. Oscar defiantly benefited from the experience if nothing else to build his confidents that he can be included in the regular class not just his special ed. Activities that seems to isolate some students.
Scene 6
By using the web to do the research this allowed the students to be independent on the way they learn about the author. By incorporating the I moves enhanced the desire for al the students to do a much better job on the project as a whole. Using the video instead of reading also help to keep all the students involved even Oscar.

Technology in early education
The tech. savvy youth of world is a natural fit to use of technology in the class room of even the youngest among us. I can surely see the advances of most of the technology in any class room, but it also concerns me the maybe the fundamentals in early education might be lose. Some of our most basic of skills that are the building blocks for future more advanced learning might slip though the cracks in the mother board and be lost for ever.
Google Groups
Google groups is another online community to help friends and family track each other and stay in touch. The endless stream of technology that is going to be released on the next generation is going to be almost mind blowing so get to launch pad before it is to late.We sure have come along way from the whole block gather at house to see the first colored tv.

Going to the University
Going to a university
It was the night before little Johnny first day of 2nd grade. Little Johnny is setting on his bed getting his book bag together with all his crayon, pencils, scissors, eraser, paper and all the other supplies on the list. It sure was a lot of stuff to fit in little Johnny’s bag. As little Johnny continued to pack he started to day dream about all the fun he had at the lake this summer with his friends and family.
Suddenly, the phone rings Little Johnny hears his mother yell for Charley his older brother, “Telephone Charley”. Charley was much bigger than Little Johnny with blonde curly hair. Charley just about ran over little Johnny trying to get to the phone. “Watch out”, Little Johnny shouted, ‘’what’s the hurry?’’ Of course, no answer came from the older brother. “Hello Mike” said Charley. Charley and Mike Then started to make plans to go camping at the lake, as Little John listen.” What tomorrow,” Johnny thought I can’t go I have school. That’s right Charley is going to the university, he will not have classes until two week from now. It’s not fair Charley is always doing stuff I can’t do. I wish I could go to the University thought Little Johnny, as he stomped off to bed.
The next morning Little Johnny is awaken, with a tug on his arm.” Wake up Johnny,” his mother whispered. Little Johnny opened his eyes to see his mother with her pretty smile and kind voice saying time to get up. I will get breakfast ready. You get dressed then come down stairs. After three tries, Little Johnny finally tied his shoes. The smell of bacon was making him hungry, so he tried to hurry. When he passed Charley’s room, he was still sleeping.
Little Johnny, eating his breakfast asked if Charley was sick.” Why no.” his mother spoke softly. Charley doesn’t have school for two more weeks.” That’s right he is going to the university. I wish I was going to the university,” said Little Johnny. The bus will be here in 15 minutes Little Johnny’s mother told her son as she finished packing his lunch.” Make sure to get your book bag little Johnny. I will get the new calculator I bought for you last night.” said Little Johnny’s mother.
Standing at the bus stop with his mother Little Johnny saw a friendly sight, a big yellow bus coming down the street with MS. Julie behind wheel. Little Johnny liked Ms. Julie. She always gave out suckers on Friday for being good on the bus. After the door shut and Little Johnny climbed into the seat just behind Ms. Julie, she asked how Charley was. He is still sleeping. He doesn’t start school for two weeks. Charley is going to the university. I wish I was going to the university. Ms. Julie will you take Charley to school?” asked Little Johnny. “Oh no!” Ms. Julie explained that university is all the way across town. Charley would have to take the city bus.”Not The city bus full of all those strangers and that smelly old man that scared Little Johnny, when Charley took him to the mall to see Spiderman.
Upon arriving at school, Little Johnny was greeted by one of safety guards that escorted him to his new classroom way down the hall. Little Johnny was glad that he was glad because he wasn’t sure where his new class was. While sitting at his desk waiting for the rest of the class to show up. Little Johnny started to remember the day mommy took Charley to register at the university. They walked from one building to another over and over again. How would Charley ever find his new class room? He surely would get lost. Little Johnny started to unpack all the school supplies when he remembered that Charley had no list of supplies. Mommy didn’t even buy Charley a single pencil or a box of crayons. How would Charley color or do his math problems?
Finally, it was lunch time and little Johnny was very hungry as he opened his lunch box. There inside were his favorite snack ding dongs. But wait, Little Johnny thought. Mommy didn’t buy Charley a new lunch box, and last year when I left my lunch box on the bus if Mr. Jones had not lent me all that money to buy lunch I would have been hungry all day Little Johnny thought to himself, “poor Charley.”
As the bell rang at the end of the day, Ms Peters Little Johnny’s new teacher reminded everyone to take his homework. Little Johnny grabbed his book bag and headed for the bus there was Ms. Julie waiting to take him home. All the way home Little Johnny thought about all the things that Charley would have to go through; the scary strangers on the bus, not having crayons to color with, no Scooby Doo lunch box filled with momma’s great treats, getting lost in all those big building, and homework from 5 teachers he will never get done in time to play. When the bus pulled up to the house there was Charley and Mike packing up Mike’s truck with all the stuff for their camping trip. Little Johnny walked up to Charley’s sure go camping now, but I am glad that I am not going to the university. I like everything just the way they are.”

My Punishment From Dr.Beedle
Technology and sports
The use of technology in sport has changed the games themselves. The global Positioning Satellites systems; which was develop by the military has leaked in to many of the modern day sports. The G.P.S. has change the way we participate, as well as, view sports.
Participation
A fisherman can mark a spot (locking in the location for future reference) where the fish can be found. A golfer get the exact distant to the pin, with the aid of a golf cart that is equipped with G.P.S. A yacht racer no longer has to navigate by the stars. A hunter can wonder into the swamp with the confidence of knowing he will find his truck at the end of the day. The eco-trekker can climb a mountain to place the signature on a tablet let in a box, on some cliff in the middle of nowhere. A dogsledder can get from Anchorage to Nome in the Iditarod in the hairiest of conditions sure that he will find his way. The skier can takes a helicopter to the top of the mountain only to ski right up to the backdoor of his condo at the end of the day.
Where is the sport in all of this? When you add technology to a sport does it take the skill and the adventure out of the sport? Relying on technology to find your way can be placing your life in the hands of two AA batteries. If a tournament or contest is won by the aid of technology, which is the champion, the machine, the participant, or the sport: “I say none of them!” (Uncle White 2009) According to War on Bullshit .com “the game is so different that quibbling about the relative achievements of players from different eras is just bullshit.’(Wolfe. August 10th, 2007) G.P.S. is only one of technology that has totally changed the way we participate in sports.
Viewing Sports
G.P.S. lets us view sport in a whole new demission. The days were you must eat a little sand in order to view a Baja race is over. Marry up a G.P.S., a virtual world and Google maps one can watch the Baja 1000 sitting in any living room in the world, as long as you can get an Internet signal.
“Map My Tracks turns your mobile cell phone into your personal real-time GPS tracking device. Using a mobile cell phone with built-in GPS or an external GPS receiver you can map and track your location in real-time. Map My Tracks is great for bringing a new insight into your sporting activity; it provides a competitive edge and makes training fun. Map My Tracks let your friends; competitors or parents know where you are right now.”
How will we put the spectator back in the stands, once we take the meaning out of the concept of a spectator sport? If the fans set in his living room with a virtual reality helmet watching the Daytona 500, with a better view than seating at a two mile track. G.P.S. is already the official scorer for Nascar. G.P.S. married up with other technology; will make these billion dollar stadiums empty. Just like the stadiums have price them self out of sight try to take a family of four to a Yankees game get a hotdog, a piece of apple pie, and park your Chevrolet. Maybe G.P.S. is only the start and a good thing for viewing America’s favorite sports “NOT” (Uncle Whitey 2009)

Pbs Video
I learn some interesting thing watching Alan Alda videos on anger management. I can see how my high hostile approach to somethings possibly had some effect for causing the stroke.
I don,t believe that I've ever been the aggressor in most situations, but I am a go getter.
The gentleman in the film is obviously the angry person of the three the Dr. interviewed.
The move suggest that a slow laid back way of life is differently the way to go the hussel and bussel of the life can make for stressful events.
Stress on a person is no go on you. high rate of heart problems can be related to stress.

My Scores from Multiple intelligences
Your top three intelligences:
Intelligence
Score (5.0 is highest)
Description
4.57
Social: You like to develop ideas and learn from other people. You like to talk. You have good social skills. Effective techniques of enhancing your learning using your social intelligence include taking part in group discussions or discussing a topic one-to-one with another person. Find ways to build reading and writing exercises into your group activities, such as:
Reading a dialogue or a play with other people
Doing team learning/investigating projects
Setting up interview questions and interviewing your family, and writing down the interview
Writing notes to another instead of talking.
4.29
Logic/math:You enjoy exploring how things are related, and you like to understand how things work. You like mathematical concepts, puzzles and manipulative games. You are good at critical thinking. Here are ways to work with this intelligence in your lessons:
Arrange cartoons and other pictures in a logical sequence.
Sort, categorize, and characterize word lists.
While reading a story, stop before you've finished and predict what will happen next.
Explore the origins of words.
Play games that require critical thinking. For example, pick the one word that doesn't fit: chair, table, paper clip, sofa. Explain why it doesn't fit.
Work with scrambled sentences. Talk about what happens when the order is changed.
After finishing a story, mind map some of the main ideas and details.
Write the directions for completing a simple job like starting a car or tying a shoe.
Make outlines of what you are going to write or of the material you've already read.
Look for patterns in words. What's the relationship between heal, health, and healthier?
Look at advertisements critically. What are they using to get you to buy their product?
4.14
Nature: You are sensitive to nature and environment. You probably know the names of rocks, flowers, birds, and trees. You love to be outdoors. Here are some ways to use your nature intelligence in your learning:
Work in the garden.
Read about plants and/or animals.
Study habits of fish or birds.
Read nature magazines.
Go hiking. Take photographs of what you find on your hike. Write a story describing the photographs.
The scores for your other five intelligences:
4.14
3.86
3.29
3.14
2.43
Just because these five are not in your top three doesn’t mean you’re not strong in them. If your average score for any intelligence is above three, you’re probably using that intelligence quite often to help you learn. Take a look at the Practice section to see how to engage all your intelligences.

Metasearch engines
The ability to get information, better, faster and easier is always a good thing. The fact that it searches a multitude of search engines at the same time, opens up new information that will aid in gathering of information. With the world speeding by at the speed of light one needs to keep up to speed. its the old adage lead follow or get out of the way.
I Phone
What a get use of technology. There is thousands of opportunity that could enhance a collage students life. With the collage introducing and providing the whole student body I phones it may help shrink the gap in the gender bias of technology on this campus. Everything students will need to deal with campus life is right in there hands. Their is one major concern that I have is Big brother, the ability for campus security to track and follow everyone could be good or bad.

second life
Second life is a great tool that has the potential to bring a group or class closer though inter action of technology and life lesson. The modern way the kids play house ,but will help them to under stand bills, purchase, and other life skills. It seam to have great tools to help one develop other media to shear with others. Personally,I belief that we risk blending reality and fantasy to much in the future. The net is already interfering in to many marriages, is a new wife in second life a grounds for divorce is it cheating. Will having a friend over for dinner in second life mean that you had a date.Chasing a person around the mall in second life really stalking. Of course it not but how will other in society view it .

Going green@ USM
GO GREEN Introduction
The idea of gathering information to try to get The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast to “Go Green” is motivational. Our idea is to create an organic farm for the Long Beach campus. We know there is already one at the Hattiesburg campus, so we thought it would be great to establish one on the Long Beach campus, also. We have contacted Larry Lee to become informed on the steps we would need to take on the Long Beach campus to get the same outlook on the organic farm down here as the Hattiesburg campus. A great option would be to get one of the students, most likely in Hattiesburg, majoring in Agriculture to use the organic farm as an in-field experience. The student could help run the farm and manage it while other students worked it. We could create a club called “The Organic Farmers.” Students could join to be a part of this wonderful organization. The members of the club would help service the farm. The organic farm would be located on the Long Beach campus and would be open to the general public. Therefore, it would also be an advantage to our local communities. The money the organic farm made from the students, administration, and general public would help the farm pay for itself.
Fruits Should Be Incorporated in landscaping
One thing that should be address is the addition of Citrus tree, plum trees, pears tree, pomegranates and peaches in to the master plan as the University. Currently at Stanford University the student body now has healthy option in their cafeteria form the organically grown fruit harvested right on the grounds of the University. This program has been huge success with staff, as well as, student of Stanford.
Currently we are under renovation the gulf coast campus the addition to the master plan of buy fruit tree, instead of palm would save money.
Raised bed block style planting
Raised bed planting can help all people total access to participate with wide row to give wheelchair access. The raised bed also makes it easy to reach all sides of the garden.
Planting in a block style layout will increase yields five fold over traditional row garden and 15 times offer a typical kitchen garden according to Colorado States university web note. (Garden notes #713)

Placing garden and container
According to Mrs. Pat the head grounds keeper there is plenty of area on the gulf coast campus though final placement would be left up to DR. Taylor. In my opinion next to pavilion that would double as the framers market would be the idea placement of such a program. Container could be adding to existing locations around doorway a path were some containers currently located.
Community Benefits
One thing all off us in the state of Mississippi should be worried about is our health, the addition of a farm market to the campus sheared with a community of Long Beach and Gulfport would be socially responsible. The public relations aspect could be very good for the university. Today more student are thinking green could be a very powerful recruiting tool in years to come.
Sustainability
The belief that with a little help in funding at the very beginning to get the bed ready and some seeds the market would actually turn a profit. Through work study and volunteers to get it going and growing. The next year this could pay to hire a full time manager, as well as, contribute to a scholarship fund

Frustration
This has been an assignment in management of frustration,(from up loading to copy and paste)emotion for me. This technology can be very helpful with giving direction to your students for assignments. Now that it finished, it was own lack of skills that has made it this frustrating. Hopefully in the future, the lessons learned will keep the stress level to a minimum. Good luck to the rest of the class if need info just ask.

chapter 3
The four concepts that are discussed in chapter 3 are Mapping concept, spreadsheets, word processing and databases. These tools have come along way from ditto machines and manual typewriters, these technology will definitely help to increase the efficiency of both the student and teacher in the modern classroom.
The Major concern that haunts me is the reliance on this technology, just like loosing your cell phone most persons can't remember phone # they will just hit send.
